Different Approaches: A Retrospective Exhibition update

The final decisions have been made about which pieces from over the last 15 years I will be showing in this exhibition including some of my earlier botanical works which haven’t ever been exhibited before. Everything is now back from the framer in readiness for the opening night from 6 – 8pm at Gaffa Gallery on Thursday 25 June 2015.

The next stage is to get all the details together for these artworks to organise the information for the gallery room sheet, and I also need to design and have printed the catalogue and invitations for the opening night so still lot’s to do!

Liquid Life Exhibition update

I have been working on lot’s of ideas for this exhibition, taking photographs and gathering all kinds of other useful reference material. The theme for this joint exhibition is anything at all relating to water, whether it be water plants or creatures, how we use water, the sea and other waterways, and a myriad of other sources so plenty of areas to draw inspiration from. This exhibition which will be opening on Tuesday 1 September 2015 at the Shorethyme Restaurant/Gallery at Norah Head on the NSW Central Coast.

Yesterday I made a vist to my framers, Koru Framing Studio in Enmore, to collect a whole lot of framed artwork they have been working on for me that I am planning to show in my upcoming joint retrospective exhibition, Different Approaches: A Retrospective, with fellow artist Michael Hogan.

I still have more work from over the last 15 years to go through so a bit more framing to get done but thanks to Koru I have the bulk of it now so can start to seriously make decisions about what I definitely want to show and how it will be arranged on the walls when we get to the stage of hanging all the artwork on June 24 in readiness for the opening night at Gaffa Gallery on Thursday 25 June 2015.
